Software Services

PanMap is a Mini-GIS (Geographical Information System) to draw point and vector data in maps.

PanPlot enables the user to plot data versus time or space in multivariable graphs.

ODV (Ocean Data View) is a software package for the exploration and visualization of oceanographic data.

PanTool for Windows or PanTool for Macintosh is a toolbox to harmonize, convert, and format data files.

PANGAEA Drag and Drop Tools converts PANGAEA files to some special formats. E.g. ODV, PanMap layers, PANGAEA import format.

PaleoTools is used by the paleocommunity to prepare data files for transfer function calculations.

PanCount is an Excel-sheet to use the keyboard as a counting device.

RAM 02 is a program provided by C. Waelbroeck to compute SST estimates according to the revised analog method (RAM).

CALIB is written and distributed by the Quaternary Isotope Lab, University of Washington. CALIB makes the conversion from radiocarbon age to calibrated calendar years and will calculate the probability distribution of the sample's true age. The program can be cited by the published description of the previous revision (Stuiver and Reimer, 1993).

WOA 98 Sample is a tool provided by C. Schäfer-Neth to interpolate the 10 m World Ocean Atlas (1998) temperatures to a set of given locations, intended for the calibration of paleo-temperature reconstructions within the MARGO programme.

The Software on this page is provided for the visualization, exploration and interpretation of the MARGO data. The tools are freeware; its use in combination with the PANGAEA Information System is recommended.
